Remembering Janet
A life held close in memory
Janet Marie Scherrer (née Berger) was born July 11, 1960. Friends and family remember her as a warm, creative spirit whose gifts included sterling silver jewelry and a deep love of nature and animals. Janet’s creativity and quiet kindness drew people to her; she delighted in small pleasures — the music of John Denver and The Monkees, a fondness for turtles, and the wide-open beauty of Colorado.
A devoted mother, Janet raised her children with care and patience. She was the daughter of Charles and Elfriede Berger and was married to Steve (preceded in death). Those who knew her speak of a gentle, generous presence who welcomed others into her life and home. Her artistry and attention to detail were evident both in her handcrafted jewelry and in the thoughtful ways she supported family and friends.
A funeral Mass was held at Assumption Catholic Church on June 24, 2015, where loved ones gathered to celebrate Janet’s life and to remember the quiet joys she shared. In remembering Janet, friends and family honor her tenderness, her creative gifts, and the companionship she offered to those around her.
Janet’s memory endures in the lives she touched and the small, meaningful things she loved. She will be remembered for her artistry, her love of nature, and the gentle warmth she offered to family and friends.
