Remembering Jacobi

A life held close in memory

Jacobi Sa'Fiir Marcelle (July 23, 2020 – December 24, 2024) was a beloved little boy whose short life brought great joy and love to his family. Born in July 2020, Jacobi filled his home with the easy laughter, curiosity, and wonder typical of a child discovering the world. He is remembered by those who loved him for his bright presence and the small, everyday moments that made his family smile.

Jacobi was a cherished son and little brother. His mother and family have spoken of him with tenderness, sharing memories of his playful spirit and the close bonds in the household. Family, friends, and neighbors gathered after his passing to honor his memory, holding vigils and a community walk that celebrated his life and raised awareness about domestic violence.

In the weeks after his death, the family invited the community to join in saying goodbye. Funeral services were arranged to give loved ones a chance to remember Jacobi, surround his family with support, and mark the brief but meaningful time he spent with those who adored him.

While Jacobi’s life was far too brief, his memory endures in the stories his family and friends share and in the advocacy his mother has since undertaken to protect other families. Those who knew him recall the warmth he brought into ordinary days; those who never met him honor that warmth now. Jacobi’s family asks that his memory be kept gently, with love for the child at the center of every remembrance.
