Obituary
A formal remembrance
Isaac Martin was a bright, warm-hearted 21-year-old whose laughter and easygoing spirit left a lasting impression on family and friends. Born October 15, 2002, in Evansville, Indiana, Isaac spent his childhood playing football and discovering the things that brought him joy. He moved to Pampa, Texas in 2017 to finish his schooling and became known locally for his friendly nature and sense of fun.
Music was one of Isaac’s great passions — he enjoyed listening, singing, and dancing to a wide variety of songs. He also found simple pleasures in stargazing from the roof at night, playing video games, watching YouTube, and gathering with friends and family for barbecues. Isaac loved his dog, Princess, who was often by his side and described by those who knew him as his best companion. Those close to him remember a young man who could lift the mood of a room with his humor and who genuinely cared for the people around him.
After high school Isaac entered the workforce and held several jobs, including a position with UPS. He was excited about a recent opportunity to work with a contractor for a power company — a new step he looked forward to as he continued building his future. In his personal life, Isaac found deep meaning shortly before his passing: two days prior to his death he accepted Christ, a decision that brought him great happiness.
Isaac is survived by his mother and stepfather, Kristi and Kelly Balay; sisters Kavori Maddox and Kaylynn Martin; brothers Kody Maddox and Zechariah Martin; stepsisters Summer and Sky Balay; and his fiancée, Destany Smith. He was preceded in death by his father, James Martin, and several extended family members.
Services to celebrate Isaac’s life were held August 22, 2024, at the Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel in Pampa. In remembering Isaac, family and friends honor his joyful spirit, his love of music and simple pleasures, and the warmth he brought into the lives of those who knew him. He is missed for the light he shared and the kindness he showed to others.
