A life held close in memory
Glenquel Emerson, who entered into rest on October 4, 2016 at the age of 20, is remembered by family and friends for the bonds she shared with those close to her. A beloved daughter and sister, Glenquel grew up surrounded by family who treasured her bright presence and the quiet ways she showed care.
She was preceded in death by Melissa Ann Stone and Glen Emerson, and is remembered by her adopted parents, Rodney and Ann Patrice Stone. Glenquel is survived by siblings Dalton and Johnathan Stone, Glen Emerson, Kenelle and Glenisha Stone, Brandie Rowe, and other relatives who recall her as a devoted companion to Brandon Polk. Her family and community — including members of St. Joseph Baptist Church and colleagues at Little Beautiful Minds Nursery — gathered to honor her life and offer comfort.
Family and friends paid tribute to Glenquel at funeral services held at Charbonnet Family Services in New Orleans on October 15, 2016, with interment at Providence Memorial Park. Those who knew her have left memories and messages that speak to the small, meaningful moments she shared with loved ones: playful affection, family gatherings, and the everyday connections that make a life significant.
Though her time was brief, Glenquel’s memory lives on in the people she loved and who loved her. Her life mattered to family and community, and she is remembered with affection and respect.
