Obituary
A formal remembrance
Gail Lynn Bailey, 69, of Washington, Utah, passed away on June 18, 2024. Born in Edmonds, Washington, in 1954 to Glenn and Barbara, Gail grew up as the middle child among brothers Mike and Dave and sisters Jenny and Teresa. She attended Granite Falls High School, where her outgoing spirit and talent for teasing became part of her trademark personality.
Gail married Joseph (Joe) Bailey, the love of her life, and together they raised a family. She was a devoted mother who balanced patience with a lively sense of humor—known to shower her grandchildren with affection and to greet birthdays with enthusiastic, if musically questionable, renditions of the birthday song that became a family tradition. Her practical jokes, good-natured teasing, and readiness to both give and take ribbing made her a joyful presence at family gatherings.
Family was central to Gail. She is survived by four children and eight grandchildren who remember her as someone who spoiled them with love and who could always lift the mood with a laugh. She was preceded in death by one brother, one sister, and her father. Gail’s life was marked by her steadfast commitment to those she loved and the small, everyday ways she showed it—through patience, warmth, and an unmistakable sense of fun.
Services will be private and announced to friends and family. The family has suggested donations to the family’s GoFundMe in lieu of flowers. Funeral arrangements are being handled by McArthur Funeral Home & Cremation Center in St. George, Utah.
Gail’s family remembers her for the bright, teasing spirit she brought into every room, for the special way she connected with her grandchildren, and for a lifetime of love shared with her husband Joe. She will be warmly remembered by those who knew her best.
