Remembering Fernando
A life held close in memory
Fernando Ruesga Jr., born July 9, 2001, is lovingly remembered by his family and many friends following his passing on April 8, 2022. A proud son of Melanie (Galindo) and Fernando Ruesga Sr., Fernando was a constant presence for his siblings and a devoted father to his children—Paris, Azariah, Arsadiah and the youngest member of the family affectionately called Baby Ruesga.
Fernando’s personality showed in the small things he enjoyed and the way he made people smile. He had a passion for cars and racing, an eye for shoes, and an interest in barbering. He loved music and dancing, could always be found enjoying a good beat, and liked video games and both indoor and outdoor sports. Those who knew him recall his laughter, his quick smile, and the joy he took in time spent with family and close friends.
Family meant everything to Fernando. He is survived by his parents, his sisters Alma, Anjelica and Teresa, his brothers Christopher, Francisco Jr., and Lorenzo, his grandparents Kathleen and Joe Villagrana, and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who carry fond memories of him. He was preceded in death by his grandmother Sally, great-grandparents Timoteo and Tina Salazar, brother-in-law Joshua Perez-Garcia, and “Aunt” Geri Villagrana.
Services to honor Fernando’s life were held at Memorial Redwood Mortuary and Cemetery in West Jordan, Utah. In lieu of words, family and friends remember him for the warmth he shared, the pride he showed in his children, and the everyday moments—music, cars, laughter—that made his life uniquely his.
Fernando’s memory lives on through his children, his family, and the many people who were touched by his energy and presence. He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by those who loved him.
