Remembering Felisha

A life held close in memory

Felisha Annmarie Matthews (May 27, 1994 – March 27, 2026) was a devoted mother, a warm friend, and a woman who lived with a bold, artistic heart. Raised and educated in Bristol, Felisha graduated from Bristol Central High School and went on to earn medical assistant certification from Tunxis Community College. She later worked as a dispatcher in Waterbury, a role in which her calm under pressure and dedication to helping others were valued by colleagues.

Above all, Felisha took greatest pride in being a mother. She cherished her daughters, Mileena Elizabeth and Ava Lee Rose, and filled their lives with creativity, laughter, and a love of animals. Friends remember Felisha as free-spirited and authentic — someone who spoke her mind, stood by her beliefs, and welcomed family gatherings with warmth and generosity. Her artistic side and lively personality left an impression on everyone who knew her.

Felisha’s family and friends described her as fiercely devoted, someone who made space for joy in everyday moments and worked to build memories with those she loved. She is mourned by her parents, siblings, extended family, and the many friends whose lives she touched.

A gathering to honor Felisha, Mileena, and Ava was held at Plainville Funeral Home on April 4, 2026. In the wake of their passing, the Plainville community offered flowers, photos and messages of support near the family home, remembering the bright presence Felisha brought to her neighborhood and to those close to her.

Though her life was far too short, Felisha’s love for her daughters, her loyalty to family, and the warmth she shared with others remain. Her memory endures in the stories and small acts of kindness she inspired — a testament to a life lived with passion, creativity, and deep care for those she held dear.

Felisha was gone far too soon. May the love, memories, and moments connected to this life continue to be treasured, and may those mourning find comfort in remembering what mattered most.
