Remembering Ethan

A life held close in memory

Ethan Jared Halverson (December 10, 1996 – April 2, 2016) brought warmth and energy to every room he entered. A 2015 graduate of Spruce Creek High School and a freshman electrical engineering student at the University of Central Florida, Ethan carried big dreams and a playful sense of ambition. He loved snowboarding in the north and paddle-boarding in Florida, and his family remember him as someone who lived fully and without hesitation.

Born in 1996 and raised in part in Esko, Minnesota, Ethan moved with his family to Port Orange in 2012. He shared a particularly close bond with his twin brother, Isaac, who recalled Ethan’s ability to make anyone laugh and his determined plans for the future. Those who knew him say Ethan spoke boldly of goals that reflected both his drive and his devotion to family.

Family and friends gathered to celebrate Ethan’s life at Volusia Memorial Funeral Home in Port Orange, Florida. Services were also held in Esko, Minnesota, where members of the community who had known the family for years could pay their respects. The family invited those who wished to remember Ethan to share condolences with them and to honor his memory through quiet acts of kindness.

Ethan’s life—though far too short—left a clear mark on those who loved him. He is remembered for his infectious laughter, adventurous spirit, and the love he held for family and the outdoors. Those memories endure as his lasting legacy.
