Remembering Elizabeth

A life held close in memory

Elizabeth M. Cann, 44, of Norton and formerly of Canton, is remembered for the love she carried for her family and the kindness she showed to friends and neighbors. A devoted mother to daughters Amanda J., Danielle E., and Brittany R. Cann, Elizabeth cherished her role as parent and family member, and her warmth left a lasting impression on those who knew her.

Born to Jeanette M. Spence (Powers) and Douglas C. Spence Sr., Elizabeth grew up surrounded by family and remained close to relatives, including siblings Patricia A. Willis, Douglas C. Spence Jr., and Karl Anderson. Those who attended her services recalled her gentle laugh, friendly nature, and the way she spoke of her daughters and family with pride.

Friends and family gathered to honor Elizabeth at Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home in Canton, followed by a service at St. John the Evangelist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory were suggested for the Trinitarian Congregational Church in Norton or the New Hope Domestic Violence Program — gestures that reflect the family’s wish to channel grief into community support and help for others in need.

While her life was cut far too short, the memories left by Elizabeth — her smile, her devotion to her children, and her quiet generosity — endure among those who loved her. Her family’s hope for comfort and healing for her daughters and relatives is carried by the many messages of condolence and remembrance shared after her passing. Elizabeth is remembered with affection and gratitude by family and friends who continue to keep her memory alive.
