Remembering Diego

A life held close in memory

Diego S. Brown, age 35, of Richmond, is remembered by those who loved him for the place he held in his family and community. A father to two children, Daquin Daley and Janae Young, Diego’s life was defined by the relationships that mattered most to him. He was a brother to Carlos Brown and a son in a family that included his sister Veruska Johnson and aunt Viveca Brown Johnson, among other relatives who survive him.

Friends and family recall Diego as a presence woven into ordinary days—time spent with loved ones, the care he showed his children, and the bonds he kept with relatives and neighbors. While public records note the date he departed this life, those who knew him remember the daily ways he was part of family gatherings and the lives of his children. Diego’s remains rested at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home in Richmond, where family and friends were able to gather to honor his memory.

Though the circumstances of his passing were tragic, the central truth for those who loved Diego is the life he lived before that day: the people he cared for and the connections he left behind. Survived by his children, siblings, an aunt, and a wide circle of nieces, nephews and cousins, his family’s grief is matched by their determination to remember him as a person first and foremost.

Diego’s memory endures in the laughter, stories, and family moments kept by those who loved him. May his children and family find comfort in their shared memories and in the support of their community as they carry forward the love he gave them.
