Obituary

A formal remembrance

Devin Jamal Winchester was born on July 16, 2003, in Natchez, Mississippi. A proud graduate of Natchez High School (Class of 2021) and of Copiah-Lincoln Community College in 2023, Devin approached life with the easy confidence of someone who loved being near family and friends. He worked at Dirt Cheap and was known in his community for his warm presence and love of sports and games.

Friends and family remember Devin for his easy laugh and for the ordinary joys that made his days full—playing sports, competing in video games with friends, and taking the chance to travel when he could. Those who knew him say he had a curiosity about the world and a readiness to share time and stories with others.

Devin’s family was central to who he was. Born to Stacey Anderson Winchester and Kylie Winchester, Sr., he remained connected to his roots in Natchez and found pride in both his school and community ties. His graduation from Copiah-Lincoln Community College in 2023 was a milestone that reflected his commitment to learning and to building a future.

Though his life was cut far too short on May 5, 2023, Devin’s memory endures in the quiet ways he brightened ordinary moments for those around him. He is remembered not for how he died but for the person he was: a son, a friend, a young man with hopes and simple pleasures that made him loved. Family and friends who wish to honor Devin are encouraged to share memories, photographs, and prayers—small acts that keep his presence alive in the lives he touched.
