Remembering David

A life held close in memory

David Lee Jackson, age 31, is remembered by family and friends for the deep ties that grounded his life. A son of Dorothy Person Jackson and Lawrence Haywood, David was part of a large, close-knit family that included ten siblings, four children, and many nieces, nephews and cousins who treasured his presence.

Those who gathered to celebrate David’s life recalled a man whose connections to family and community mattered most. Funeral arrangements noted a Celebration of Life held at Ephesus 7th Day Adventist Church on April 15, 2005, where relatives and friends gathered to honor his memory and support one another. He was laid to rest at Evergreen Cemetery, surrounded by those who loved him.

Although public records emphasize the tragedy of his untimely passing, David’s memorial reflects the people and relationships that defined him: a son, a father, a brother and a friend. The outpouring of support at his service and the many remembered ties captured in his obituary speak to a life that touched others in everyday, meaningful ways.

David’s family invited remembrances, condolences and gestures of support in the weeks following his death — a reminder that even when details are difficult, the warmth of family and the quiet rituals of mourning keep a life present in memory. He is survived by his parents, his children, his siblings and a wide circle of relatives and friends who continue to hold his memory dear.

May the memory of David be a lasting source of comfort. A life matters far beyond what can ever be captured on a page, and this remembrance is offered with sympathy and respect.
