Obituary

A formal remembrance

Daniel “Danny” Ray Brown, 56, of Indianapolis, passed away on September 6, 2021. Born July 16, 1965, in Indianapolis to Roy and Glendon (Smith) Brown, Danny built a life around family, hard work, and machines. He spent his career as a machinist for Terre Corp., where his natural aptitude for mechanics and steady work ethic were well known.

Danny loved working on cars and riding motorcycles — pastimes that reflected both his skill and his joy in hands-on projects. He was outgoing and generous, the sort of person friends and neighbors could count on to help without hesitation. Family was paramount to him: he treasured time with his daughter and took great pride in his many grandchildren, who were a constant source of warmth and happiness in his life.

If you asked Danny what made for a perfect day, he would have pointed to warm weather, a backyard cookout, family gathered together, and a cold beer in hand. He had simple favorites — his sister’s ham and cabbage being one of them — and beneath a gruff exterior those who knew him best said he had a heart of gold. He is remembered by his daughter Cheyenne (Eric Dockery) Brown; grandchildren Joshua, Aliviah, Selena, Caden, Mason, Jules, Audrey, Aubrey, Brayden and River; siblings Chuck Muns and Richard Muns; sisters Jeannie Owings, Judy Bennett, and Kim Collins; and other loving family members.

A funeral service to celebrate Danny’s life was held on September 13, 2021, at Fountain Square Cremation & Funeral Services. Those who knew him remember a man who loved working with his hands, loved his family fiercely, and who found joy in simple gatherings — a presence that will be missed by those who shared his days.
