Remembering Dane
A life held close in memory
Dane Joseph Marcotte, 18, was cherished by family and community for the warmth he shared with those closest to him. A son of Randy Marcotte and Sarah Lee Richard, Dane grew up surrounded by family in Louisiana and was known to his relatives as a caring brother and nephew. He is remembered by siblings Trent, Tyler, Zanna, Charlie and Bailey, and by grandparents who loved him dearly.
His funeral service was held at St. Peter’s Catholic Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery, reflecting the family's faith and the community’s wish to honor him in that sacred place. Visitation and services were arranged by Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie, where friends and family gathered to offer support and to share memories.
Though Dane’s life was brief, the notice of his passing emphasizes the network of relationships he left behind: parents, brothers and sisters, grandparents, extended family, and a circle of nieces and nephews who remember him. Those who knew him recall a young man whose presence mattered to his family and whose loss was deeply felt.
The family acknowledged those who preceded him in death and expressed gratitude for the care and support shown during this painful time. In remembering Dane Joseph Marcotte, his family celebrates the closeness he shared with loved ones and the quiet, human ways he made an impact on family life. His memory endures in the hearts of those who knew him and in the lives of the relatives who survive him.
