Damon Tremaine Alston (October 30, 1983 – April 28, 2019) is remembered for the steady, loving presence he offered his family and community. A North Charleston resident, Damon worked as a forklift operator and took pride in providing for his sons. Those who knew him recall a man who cherished family gatherings and simple everyday moments with his children.

Damon was a devoted father to Jaedon and Damon Jr., and a beloved son to Marie L. Watson and Bobby Steed. He was also a brother to Angela Dingle, Walter Watson, and Vincent Hamilton. Family and friends gathered to honor his memory at Mt. Nebo AME Church in Awendaw, where loved ones shared memories of his laugh, his caring spirit, and the ways he showed up for those closest to him.

He is survived by his sons and by the relatives who mourn him and continue to celebrate his life. Damon’s memory lives on in the stories his family tells and in the love he gave to those who mattered most.

Those wishing to pay respects were invited to services arranged by W.M. Smith-McNeal Funeral Home. Damon was laid to rest at St. James AME Church Cemetery. The family has expressed gratitude for the support of friends, neighbors, and the North Charleston community during their time of mourning.
