Remembering Crandall

A life held close in memory

Crandall “Jack” Reed, 51, of Jacksonville passed away on November 16, 2007. A proud U.S. Navy veteran, Jack served his country for two decades and carried that sense of duty into his everyday life. Those who knew him remember a man who worked hard, greeted others with a friendly smile, and took great pride in providing for his family. He was especially cherished as a grandfather, and his family often spoke of the joy he found in their company. Jack worked as a taxi driver in Jacksonville, and through that work he became a familiar presence to many in the community.

Jack is remembered by his wife, Terri, who described him as the love of her life, and by other family members who survive him. His service, steady character, and care for loved ones left an impression on friends and colleagues alike. Though his life was cut short, the memories of his laughter, dedication and family devotion endure.

A celebration of Jack’s life will be held by family and close friends. Those who wish to honor his memory are encouraged to cherish time with their own families and to carry forward the kindness he showed to others. He will be remembered for his commitment to service, his devotion to family, and the quiet strength with which he lived his life.
