Remembering Corey

A life held close in memory

Corey Wayne Grubbs was born February 6, 1985, and raised with warmth and steady care by his family. A native of Texas who became part of the Shelbyville community, Corey graduated from Franklin High School and carried his loyalty to that place into adult life. He began working for Domino’s while still in high school and over the years built a career there, serving his community as manager of the Shelbyville Domino’s beginning in 2009.

Corey was a dedicated father to his daughter, Melanie, and a beloved son to Gary and Crystal Grubbs. He treasured family ties and is remembered by his sister Amanda (Jimmy) Boyd, grandparents Martha Grubbs and Joe and Liz Emmons, and other loving relatives. Those who knew him recall a reliable, hardworking presence — someone who brought steadiness to his work and care to his family.

A celebration of life was held at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home on March 13, 2021, where friends and family gathered to honor his memory. The family established the Corey Grubbs Memorial Fund for those who wished to offer a remembrance.

Corey’s life was one of ordinary devotion: to family, to steady employment, and to the small acts of care that knit a community together. He is remembered for his commitment to those he loved and for the quiet way he held daily responsibilities with care. His family and friends carry forward those memories with gratitude for the time they had with him.
