A formal remembrance
Claire Camille “Camille” Cosson (June 22, 1995 – March 23, 2022) is remembered for a life of caring and quiet dedication. Born June 22, 1995, Claire was a beloved daughter of Burt and Tiffany Cosson and sister to McLeod Cosson. Family and friends recall her warm presence and the steadiness with which she approached her work and relationships.
A graduate of the nursing program at Gulf Coast State College, Claire poured herself into the profession she loved. Those who created the Camille Cosson Memorial Scholarship at Gulf Coast State College emphasized that nursing was more than an occupation for her — it was a calling. Her compassion for patients and commitment to professional growth left a lasting impression on classmates and colleagues, and the scholarship established in her memory supports future nursing students who share her desire to help others.
Funeral arrangements were handled by Clary-Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory, with visitation and a service held at First Baptist Church in DeFuniak Springs. Her family requested that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Pregnancy Support Center, reflecting causes that mattered to them in Claire’s memory.
Though taken far too soon, Claire’s life touched many through both personal kindness and professional care. Survivors named in memorial notices include her parents, Burt and Tiffany Cosson, her brother McLeod Cosson, grandparents, and a wide circle of cousins, aunts and uncles. Her legacy continues through the scholarship in her name and the memories held by those who knew her warmth and compassion.
