Christiana Mae Chrissy Duarte

Christiana “Chrissy” Mae Duarte (August 7, 1995 – October 1, 2017) was a warm, enthusiastic young woman whose kindness and laughter touched everyone around her. A proud graduate of the University of Arizona’s Eller College of Management, Chrissy completed her studies in business and marketing and carried her natural energy into the world of professional sports, where she pursued her dream of working for a major team. She had recently begun work as a fan services associate with the Los Angeles Kings and also supported events for the Los Angeles Rams, bringing dedication and a sunny presence to her new roles.

Born and raised in the South Bay area, Chrissy was known to family and friends for her bright smile, easy friendliness, and love of music and dancing. Those close to her remember a young woman who loved social gatherings, who cared deeply for her family, and who built wide circles of friends through genuine warmth and a ready laugh. Friends from university recalled how Chrissy balanced involvement and study with a natural gift for connecting with people — whether helping fellow students, cheering on friends at campus events, or sharing small acts of generosity in day-to-day life.

Chrissy’s family and community celebrated her life with services that reflected both faith and friendship. Her funeral at St. Lawrence Martyr and the many remembrances that followed were filled with stories of her kindness, the pride her loved ones felt in her accomplishments, and the bright possibilities she carried into the future. Teams she worked with honored her at season events, and friends and classmates gathered to light candles, share memories, and support one another.

Though her life was far too brief, Christiana’s impact is remembered in the smiles of those she knew and the compassion she showed. Her family asked for privacy as they grieved and for her spirit to be honored by remembering the warmth and joy she gave others. Chrissy’s legacy lives on in the hearts of her family, friends, and colleagues who continue to recall her laughter, her determination, and the promise she carried as she stepped into adulthood.
