Obituary
A formal remembrance
Chazz Edman Williams was born August 1, 1998, in Webster, Texas, and was known to family and friends for a joyful, positive spirit that lifted those around him. The son of Dawnielle (Hankerson) Williams and Charles E. Williams Jr., Chazz grew up around the Gulf Coast and in the Southeast, attending several high schools while remaining close to teammates and childhood friends.
From an early age Chazz loved sports. He began playing organized football at five and later played on AAU basketball teams, travels and competition forming lasting friendships that he cherished. He played football at Hightower High School in Missouri City, Green Run High School in Virginia Beach, and graduated from Stephenson High School in Stone Mountain, Georgia in 2016. Teammates and coaches remember him as someone who carried his competitive spirit with a light touch and a readiness to encourage others.
Chazz was a devoted father to his young daughter, and family members describe him as naturally cheerful — someone who could find a positive in difficult moments and who cared deeply about those he loved. He traveled between communities to be with family and was visiting relatives during the holidays when he unexpectedly died on December 24, 2024.
Those who knew Chazz remember his laughter, his dedication to family, and the small everyday ways he supported people he cared about. His mother described him as a bright presence who often turned negatives into positives; that memory now accompanies the grief of those closest to him. The loss of Chazz leaves a daughter growing up without her father and a family and circle of friends mourning a warm, encouraging presence.
Chazz’s life was more than its end: he was a son, a teammate, a friend, and a father whose kindness and love made a real difference to those around him. He is remembered with affection and gratitude by his family and friends.
