Their life, in the words of those who remember

The story of Carl Covey

Born 3rd of 5 children, he was a smart and likable red headed child. He left Fairbanks in 1971 to attend the Skill Center in Seward to learn to build houses, but wound up using his skills and an auto mechanic.
He worked at Autocraft Tune Up Center when he met Karin Fish Doisher and her four children. He thought they were an adorable family and gave love a chance. It take a brave man to raise another man's children, but he "interviewed" for the position, with Little River Band blaring in the background.
They found love and married at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Chugiak in 1981. They found there way to Wasilla in 1982 and settled on Howling Wolf Lane where they raised their large family.
He was a kind and loving man with a great sense of humor which he shared willingly with all who knew him. His family adored him.
He worked at Charlie Brown's Chevron for a while in Palmer and then at Car care Inc. on the Parks Highway. He worked on boats as well. Customers loved him. Co-workers loved him. Kids loved him. He whistled while he worked. He did crossword puzzles daily.
He was a smart man who enjoyed the simple pleasures in life.
