Remembering Calvin

A life held close in memory

Calvin Recardo Bryant Jr., known affectionately as “Monkey Main” in childhood and later as “Money Main,” is remembered for a generous spirit and a ready smile. Born October 15, 1993, Calvin grew up in the Columbia area and graduated from Brookland Cayce High School in 2012. Family and friends recall his sense of humor, his caring nature toward children, and his protective loyalty to those he loved.

A devoted father, Calvin took pride in his children and worked to provide for them. Those closest to him describe him as someone who could light up a room, the life of a gathering, and a person who offered help to family, friends, and even strangers when it was needed. His presence at community and family events, and the warmth he brought to everyday moments, are enduring parts of how he is remembered.

Calvin’s family and circle included many loved ones who survive him: his parents, siblings, children, and a wide network of extended family and friends who cherished him. Funeral services were arranged by Bostick-Tompkins Funeral Home in Columbia, where friends and relatives gathered to honor his life and legacy.

Though his passing on December 15, 2019, was tragically early, those who knew Calvin remember a life marked by loyalty, laughter, and an instinct to protect and provide. His memory lives on in his children, his family, and the many personal moments—big and small—that revealed his generous heart.
