Remembering Caleb

A life held close in memory

Caleb Martin Lishing was born September 28, 2006, in Akron, Ohio. From his earliest days he carried a lively curiosity about the world. A fifth-grade student at Henry Defer Intermediate School in Streetsboro, Caleb delighted in the outdoors — camping, fishing, watching wildlife, and sitting by a campfire with those he loved. Friends and family remember a boy who had a special fascination with the Titanic, who loved dodge ball, and who approached everyday moments with wide-eyed wonder and an open heart.

Beloved by his family, Caleb is remembered as affectionate and full of warmth. He was the son of Martin T. Lishing and Dena Bricker, and his family included siblings, grandparents, step-relatives and many aunts, uncles, and cousins who treasured his presence. He found joy in simple pleasures: time spent with friends, exploring nature, and the quiet discoveries that captivated his imagination.

Private family services were held to honor Caleb’s life, and he was laid to rest in Evergreen Cemetery in Streetsboro. Those who knew him recall a gentle spirit and a curiosity that made ordinary days feel like small adventures. Though his time was far too short, the memories of his laughter, his interest in the natural world, and the love he shared with family and friends remain.

Caleb’s family expresses gratitude for the community’s support and the kindness shown during their grief. His life — the small bright moments he gathered and the love he gave — continues to be remembered by those who were fortunate to know him.
