Brian A. Terry, a United States Border Patrol agent and former Marine, devoted his life to service — a beloved son and brother whose commitment and courage touched family and community.
Remembering Brian
A life held close in memory
Brian A. Terry, age 40, is remembered for a life of steadfast service to his family and country. A native of Flat Rock, Michigan, Brian continued a tradition of public service that began with his service in the United States Marine Corps and later as a police officer in Michigan. He went on to join the U.S. Border Patrol, where he served with dedication.
Beloved son of Josephine Terry and Kent (Carol) Terry, Brian was a devoted brother to Michelle (Michael) Balogh, Kent, and Kelly (Ron) Willis. He treasured family ties and was also a grandson of Agatha Staugl. Those who knew him recall a man who took pride in serving others, who carried himself with quiet honor, and who brought warmth and a ready smile into everyday encounters.
Family and friends gathered to honor Brian’s life with visitations and a service arranged by John Molnar Funeral Home and Greater Grace Temple Church in Detroit. The public outpouring of sympathy and remembrance reflected the deep regard in which he was held by colleagues, neighbors, and the wider community.
Brian’s life was defined by his commitment to protect and serve — a commitment his family and fellow service members remember with gratitude. While his passing was felt as a profound loss, those who loved him cherish their memories of his courage, loyalty, and the steady character he displayed in his work and at home.
He is survived by his parents, siblings, grandchildren in love through nieces and nephews, and many colleagues and friends who honor his memory. Brian’s family asks that remembrances be held in their hearts and that his dedication to service be remembered as part of the legacy he leaves behind.
