Known for a ready laugh and a generous heart, Betty took pride in caring for those around her and in the nurturing friendships she kept throughout her life. After earning her GED from Cincinnati State, she brought steady dedication to her work at Residence of Greystone, where she served as head cook for three years and was respected for her reliability and strong work ethic.
A loving mother, Betty treasured her daughters, Anaya and Ariyah Bostic, who remained the center of her life. Family was important to her — she remained close with parents and siblings and was remembered by many relatives and friends for her kindness and the way she brightened gatherings with her presence. Those who knew her recall someone who combined a warm spirit with quiet strength, and who took joy in everyday moments with family.
Betty’s life, though cut short on January 9, 2014, left a lasting impression on the many people who loved her. Her family’s remembrance highlights her humor, her care for others, and the comfort she offered to those around her. She is lovingly remembered by her father, Darnell Emerson; her mother, Donna Jean Thomas; her children, Anaya and Ariyah Bostic; and a large extended family of brothers and sisters who carry her memory forward.
