Remembering Aureon
A life held close in memory
Aureon Shavea Grace (September 21, 1999 – June 16, 2024) is remembered for her warmth, the love she had for her children, and her quiet dedication to providing for them. A 2018 graduate of Statesboro High School, Aureon worked for Aramark in the Smith State Prison kitchen beginning in January 2024. Those who knew her recall a young woman who cared deeply for her family and who carried out her responsibilities with steadiness and a sense of purpose.
Aureon was an active member of Saint Mary’s Missionary Baptist Church in Statesboro and was laid to rest at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery in Brooklet following services conducted by Rev. Timotheos Mincey and Pastor Donald Chavers, Jr. Her funeral program, arranged by Matthew H. Lovett & Son’s Funeral Home, reflects the community’s wish to honor her life and the relationships that mattered most to her.
Though Aureon’s life was cut short, those who loved her remember the everyday ways she showed up — as a mother, a daughter, a friend, and a neighbor. Her family’s grief is accompanied by the many small memories that give shape to a life: efforts to provide for her children, ties to her church and hometown, and the quiet commitments that made up her daily life.
Aureon’s passing left sadness across her community in Statesboro and beyond. This remembrance honors her as a person first — a young mother whose life had value and meaning for those closest to her. Her spirit remains in the memories of family and friends who continue to celebrate the love she gave and the role she played in their lives.

Aureon was gone far too soon. May the love, memories, and moments connected to this life continue to be treasured, and may those mourning find comfort in remembering what mattered most.
