Remembering Ashley
A life held close in memory
Ashley Marie Hall (April 1, 1990 — April 10, 2026) was a loving mother, loyal friend, and a familiar presence in her Des Moines community. A proud graduate of North High School, Ashley brought energy and care to everything she did. She worked with the Laborers Union in asbestos removal, and was known by those close to her for a quick, welcoming smile and a laugh that brightened gatherings.
Ashley’s family remembers a woman with a bold spirit and an open heart. Though petite in stature, she carried a large capacity for empathy: friends said she listened without judgment, offered steady support, and lifted others with an encouraging word. She loved being around family, cherished time with her daughters, and had a special fondness for animals, especially her cat, Luna. Her faith and spiritual sensitivity were meaningful parts of her life.
She is survived by her three daughters, Aaliyah Hall, Lailyhn Hernandez‑Swanson and Jenahviv Hernandez‑Swanson; her life partner, Miguel Hernandez; her mother, Tawnya (Jamez) Swanson; her father, Ralph C. Hall Jr.; her grandmother, Kathleen M. Hall; her brothers Reinaldo (Ray) Villarreal, Orlando Villarreal, Adrian Jamez and Antonio Swanson; her godmother Christine Newell; and many cousins, extended family members and friends who will miss her presence.
Ashley was preceded in death by her grandparents David and Katherine McCullough and Ralph C. Hall Sr., and her aunt Crystal McCullough.
Her family held a visitation and funeral service on April 25, 2026, at Kingdom Life Family Ministries in Des Moines. In lieu of flowers, contributions were requested to help provide for her children.
Ashley will be remembered for the warmth she offered friends and family, the steady devotion she showed her daughters, and the bright energy she brought into the lives of those around her. Her memory lives on through the laughter she shared and the care she gave to others.
