Remembering Ashley

A life held close in memory

Ashley Doris Barr (November 13, 1989 — May 11, 2020) was a loving mother and member of the Weatherford community whose warmth touched everyone around her. Raised in Clinton, Ashley carried with her a generous spirit and a readiness to make others smile. Family-centered and caring by nature, she treasured time with her three children, who were the center of her life.

Ashley worked in several local places through the years, including Lucky Star Casino, TC’s Restaurant, and Bar-s, and she also spent time working in health care. Colleagues and friends remember her for a friendly presence and an ability to bring kindness into everyday moments. She enjoyed being with family and friends and took particular joy in the simple pleasures of life shared with those she loved.

She was preceded in death by her father and an infant brother. Ashley is survived by her children Tahlia, Darien, and Aniyah of Weatherford; her mother Cathy (listed as Catherine Lorraine Martin in public records) and stepfather Victor Alvarado of Weatherford; sister Jennifer Borg of California; brothers Anthony Borg of Weatherford and Alex Ortega of California; and extended family who remember her fondly. Family members gathered for services in late May 2020 to celebrate her life and the love she gave so freely.

Ashley’s life was defined by her devotion to family, her steady kindness, and the way she made ordinary days brighter for those around her. Though her time was far too short, the love she shared with her children and the memories held by family and friends endure. She will be remembered with affection for the warmth she brought to others and the small acts of care that revealed her generous heart.
