Remembering Anthony

A life held close in memory

Anthony Kamroken Decarbos Beene was a devoted son, brother, and friend who brought warmth and energy to those around him. Born in Tupelo on December 31, 1994, Anthony graduated from Baldwyn High School and looked forward to continuing his education and pursuing a future in the military. He worked as a roofer with G&G Sheetmetal & Roofing, where his strong work ethic and steady presence were appreciated by coworkers.

Anthony loved football and enjoyed being active with friends and family. Church was an important part of his life, and he found joy in gatherings with loved ones. Those who knew him remember a young man who cared for people, shared laughter easily, and took pride in providing for his family.

Anthony is survived by his mother, Tashia Beene Johnson, his parent Adrene, and other family members including sisters Phillyasia Leach, Moesha Payne, De-Shawn Virgin, Deniya Virgin, and his brother Adrene Johnson Jr. His family’s presence and the community support reflected how many lives he touched.

Though his life was tragically cut short on July 23, 2014, Anthony’s hopes and the kindness he showed remain part of his legacy. Family and friends recall a bright young man with plans for service and education, whose memory endures in the stories they share. He was honored by funeral services arranged by N. L. Jones Funeral Directors in Tupelo. In remembering Anthony, his loved ones celebrate the generosity, ambition, and affection he offered in his time with them.
