Remembering Andrew

A life held close in memory

Andrew Lee Jones Jr., born November 20, 1987, in Chicago, Illinois, was a loving son, proud father and a friend who brightened the room with his outgoing spirit. A graduate of Mary D. Bradford High School, Andrew worked most recently at Jade Electronics and was known by family and friends for his reliability, gentle nature, and optimistic outlook.

He cherished time with his sons, Jaden Lee Jones and Theodore Solomon-Lee Baldwin, who brought him tremendous joy. Andrew loved sports and was a devoted fan of the Chicago Bears and Bulls. He also delighted in cold weather and playing in the snow with loved ones; those simple, joyful moments were among his happiest.

Andrew is remembered by his father, Andrew Lee Jones Sr.; mother Evette Moore; step-mother Jackie Adams; siblings Adam Jones, Audrey Smith and Armoth Miller; and a wide circle of aunts, uncles and friends who treasured his caring, compassionate presence. He was described by those close to him as outgoing, trustworthy, kind and dependable — someone who made others feel at home and at ease.

Family and friends celebrated Andrew’s life with services arranged through Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home and Crematory. He was laid to rest at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park. Though his life ended too soon on March 2, 2015, the warmth he shared with his sons and the many people who loved him endures in their memories and stories.

Those who knew Andrew remember a devoted father and an affectionate, loyal son and brother whose laughter and kindness will be carried forward by the family and community who loved him.
