Allie Helms Lam

Allie Helms Lam was a woman whose life centered on family, creativity, and caring for others. Born June 26, 1992, in Dothan, Alabama, she graduated from Houston County High School in 2010 and went on to train and work as a certified dental assistant. In her community she combined steady work with a warm, home-centered life.

As a mother, Allie’s joys were her two young sons, Maddox and Rylan. Family activities were a cherished part of her days; she especially loved taking the boys on camping trips where ordinary moments became lasting memories. Those who knew her remember a hands-on, creative spirit — she crocheted, painted, and made crafts that reflected a patient, domestic creativity and a desire to make beauty for the people she loved.

Allie also balanced work and family. She earned her dental assistant certification and worked with Dr. Humphrey’s office while previously employed by Tom West Company, demonstrating her willingness to learn and provide for her household. Close family ties were important to her life: she was the daughter of Ray and Shannon Helms and sister to Danielle Radetic and Kallie Briggs, among other extended family members who survive her.

Her sudden passing in July 2021 left a profound sense of loss among family and friends. In the weeks following her death, her family sought to provide practical support for her children, establishing a fund to help care for Maddox and Rylan. Memorial services were held in Dothan, and friends and relatives gathered to honor her life and the quiet, everyday kindnesses she offered.
