Remembering Alexander
A life held close in memory
Alexander “Alex” Antonio Borras was born September 16, 2002, in Bedford, Texas, and raised in the Hurst‑Euless‑Bedford community. Those who knew Alex remember a young man who carried a quick wit and a big heart: charismatic, playful, and always ready with a hug or a laugh for family and friends.
A 2021 graduate of L.D. Bell High School, Alex briefly continued his studies at RPA College and played collegiate football for a semester, embracing the camaraderie and spirit of the team. He was devoted to the people closest to him — his parents, siblings, grandparents and a wide circle of extended family — and took comfort in being surrounded by those he loved.
Alex’s life was lived in the small, meaningful moments: showing up for family gatherings, sharing jokes that lifted spirits, and offering a steady shoulder when someone needed support. He is remembered for his warmth and his ability to make others feel seen and cared for.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Marvin “Bunky” Mitchell. He is survived by his mother Dusti Jean Mitchell; father Jose Borras; sister Alexcia Borras (and her husband Kent Spraglin); brothers Anthony Perez, Jovanni Borras, and Charles Palmer; nieces and nephews Zyaire, Zamora and Zamir Spraglin; maternal grandparents Debbi Wendt and Chuck Wendt and Cindy Mitchell; paternal grandparents Tony Borras and Ellie Borras; Maria Santiago; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.
A service to celebrate Alex’s life was held on December 17, 2024, at Lucas Funeral Home in Hurst, Texas. Though his time was far too short, Alex’s warmth, humor, and love for his family remain a lasting and treasured memory for all who knew him.
