Remembering Alesia
A life held close in memory
Alesia Janay (King) Woods, 27, of Marion, Alabama, passed away on August 15, 2021. Those who knew Alesia recall a young woman whose presence brought comfort to family and friends and whose life mattered deeply to her community.
Born August 4, 1994, Alesia lived in Marion and was surrounded by relatives who loved her. Her funeral arrangements reflected the care of her family and community: a Celebration of Life was held on August 22, 2021, at Marion Baptist Academy, followed by interment at Eagle Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Pastor Bailey Dawson officiated the service, which was attended by those who wished to honor her memory.
Family, faith, and community were central to Alesia’s life. The staff at Ashley’s J.H. Williams & Sons and Ashley’s Lee & Rollins Funeral Home extended sympathy to the King family and noted the deep sense of loss felt by those close to her. The public notices and tributes that followed her passing speak to the many connections she made during her years in Marion.
Alesia’s life is commemorated by those who gathered to celebrate her memory and by the small acts of remembrance shared by friends and family. While words cannot fully capture the fullness of a life, those who loved Alesia hold her in their hearts and remember the ways she brought people together. May her memory be a blessing to all who knew her.
