Aerris Mayberry

Aerris Yvonne Mayberry brought light and youthful joy to those around her. Born July 29, 2007, Aerris was known by friends and family for a vivacious personality and a kind, gentle heart. As a freshman at Aurora Central High School, she was beginning to build friendships and dreams that reflected the hopeful energy of adolescence.

Aerris enjoyed time with close friends and was cherished by her family, who remember her laughter and the simple ways she brightened ordinary days. In the days after her passing, loved ones gathered to honor her — holding a balloon release in her favorite colors and coming together to celebrate the warmth she gave to others. Those gestures reflected how deeply she was cared for and how present she was in her community's hearts.

Her family arranged services so that friends and neighbors could pay their respects and support one another. Aerris’s life, though far too brief, left an imprint on those who knew her: a reminder to hold loved ones close, to cherish small kindnesses, and to keep hope for the future alive. She is remembered with love by her mother, Patricia Calhoun, family, and classmates who continue to carry her memory forward.
