Remembering Adarious

A life held close in memory

Adarious O’Neal carried a gentle warmth that touched family, classmates, and friends in Columbus. Born January 24, 1997, he grew up surrounded by family and community ties that shaped who he was: a young man who loved to laugh, who showed care for others, and who took pride in his commitments.

A graduate of Columbus High School, Adarious was a familiar face in the marching band for four years and an active member of the JROTC for three. Those activities reflected his steady work ethic and his love of teamwork—qualities his family and friends remember most. He continued his studies at East Mississippi Community College and worked locally, including at the Popeye’s in Columbus, where he was known by coworkers and customers alike.

Family was central to Adarious’s life. He is survived by siblings and extended relatives who remember him as someone who would offer a smile and a kind word. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Melvin Morris and Ada Lee Perry; his grandmother Lula Morris and a wide circle of cousins, uncles, aunts, and friends remain among those who cherish his memory.

Adarious’s life was made of everyday moments that mattered: time spent with family, dedication to his school activities, and the small kindnesses he offered to people he met. Though his life was cut short on July 1, 2018, those who knew him recall a young man whose good humor and steady presence left a lasting impression. He is remembered with love and gratitude by those who were blessed to know him.
