Remembering William
A life held close in memory
William Kahari Noel, 30, of Syracuse, NY, passed away on July 5, 2017. A lifelong resident of the city, William was cherished by his parents, William and Felicia Noel, and by a close circle of family and friends. He is remembered especially by his fiancée, Shante Ray, and by his children — his son Jaiden and daughters Aniyah, Lamiyah and Alaya — who were the center of his life.
Those who gathered for services at Bethany Baptist Church honored William’s relationships with family and community. Calling hours and a funeral service were held at Bethany Baptist on July 13, 2017, followed by burial at Oakwood Cemetery, where relatives and friends paid their final respects. Funeral arrangements were handled by Hollis Funeral Home.
Friends and neighbors recall William as a devoted family man whose life was rooted in Syracuse. While public details focus on the loss his family endured, the memorial services and the presence of loved ones reflect the deep bonds he formed and the care he showed to those closest to him.
William’s passing was felt by many — parents, children, siblings and a broader network of people who knew him in the city he called home. His family’s choice to hold services at a neighborhood church and to lay him to rest at Oakwood Cemetery underscored the role his local ties played in his life.
He is survived by his parents William and Felicia Noel; his fiancée, Shante Ray; his son Jaiden; daughters Aniyah, Lamiyah and Alaya; and siblings Quashawn and Lisia. Condolences and remembrances were made available through Hollis Funeral Home and published in local obituary notices. Though William’s life was cut short, those who loved him remember the quiet, enduring commitments he made to family and community.
