Remembering Vincent
A life held close in memory
Vincent Vernard “Vince” Taylor Jr. (December 19, 1986 – October 21, 2025) is remembered for the steady hands, friendly laugh and deep family ties that defined his everyday life. Born in Kansas City, Kansas, Vince grew up surrounded by family and graduated from Wyandotte High School. He went on to study at Vatterott College and earned an associate degree in HVAC, a training that led him into a skilled career as a maintenance technician.
Vince worked for several companies before joining Martinrea Riverside LLC, where colleagues knew him as reliable and hardworking. He took pride in the practical work of keeping systems running and in being someone others could count on. Outside of work, Vince loved to dance and watch football — simple pleasures he shared with family and friends.
Family was the center of Vince’s life. He married Maxine LaKeta (Flag) Taylor on August 12, 2017; together they built a household filled with children and close kin. Vince is survived by his wife Maxine; sons JaeShawn, Jayme, Jermaine, Ivon and Michael; daughters Dymond, De’Mya, Te’Ira, Ariel, Ayonni and Armoni; his parents Vincent Taylor Sr. and Melisa Boyd; and a large circle of siblings, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins who remember him with love.
Those who knew Vince recall a man who enjoyed being with his family, who could light up a room with a dance step or a grin, and who found meaning in work and in the ties that held his community together. While the loss is profound, his memory endures in the children he raised, the family gatherings he enlivened, and the quiet competence he brought to his days. Services were arranged by Serenity Funeral Home in Kansas City; friends and family are invited to celebrate his life and hold his loved ones in their care.
