Remembering Vincent
A life held close in memory
Vincent Brown was a 22-year-old from Aurora whose life touched people in small, recognizable ways. Public accounts and family comments describe him as a young man with a large personality who was well known to people he encountered in his neighborhood. Though parts of his life were difficult — his mother Linnea spoke publicly about periods of homelessness and about Vincent’s associations on the streets — those who knew him remembered more than struggle: they remembered someone with a presence that lingered.
Born September 16, 1998, Vincent grew up in the Denver–Aurora area. Local reporting and statements from authorities indicate he was a familiar figure in parts of Aurora; he had at times become known beyond his immediate community after a viral video years earlier. Family members, including his mother, have emphasized that his street affiliations were complex and that he was more “affiliated” than a committed participant in gang activity. Those who knew him described him as outspoken and personable, traits that made him a notable presence among friends and acquaintances.
Vincent’s life reflected the difficult mix of vulnerability and resilience that many young people face. Public sources note that he experienced homelessness for several years, and his mother spoke candidly about both her grief and her son’s compassion for people on the streets. While public records and news coverage focus largely on the circumstances surrounding his death, those close to Vincent remember him first as a son and as a person who mattered to others in his community.
On March 21, 2021, Vincent died in Aurora. His death was investigated by local authorities and reported by the Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office and the Aurora Police Department. The facts of what happened are part of the public record; they do not, however, define the whole of who Vincent was. This remembrance aims to center his humanity — the faces, conversations, and small kindnesses that marked his life — while acknowledging the limits of public information about his private joys and struggles. He is remembered by family and by those on the streets who knew him as someone with a strong personality whose life mattered to people around him.
