Tracy Ford

Tracy Ford (42) dedicated his life to education and to making the people around him feel seen. A longtime educator in the Birmingham area and a native of Uniontown, Alabama, Mr. Ford served as a teacher, principal and later as Director of Human Resources and Data Analytics for Fairfield City Schools. His colleagues remember him for enthusiasm, creativity, and a unique ability to lift spirits — whether greeting staff with a hug or turning up on a hoverboard to energize a school assembly.

During five years with Fairfield City Schools, Tracy brought energy and a steady commitment to students and staff. As principal of Robinson Elementary he was known for inventive ways to engage learners and for leading with warmth and high expectations. In the central office he continued to support teachers and families through administrative leadership, always returning to the belief that school communities thrive when people feel supported.

Those who worked alongside Tracy describe him as kind, caring, and deeply committed to the service of education. His enthusiasm for learning and for the children in his care became a hallmark of his work; he had a gift for making ordinary days brighter and for helping others find reason to smile. Fairfield City Schools provided counseling and support to their community after his passing, a sign of how much he mattered to the people he served.

Tracy’s life touched students, families, and coworkers.
