Remembering Tracie

A life held close in memory

Tracie Nicole (Stuchlik) von Arx, born June 28, 1982, was a beloved daughter, colleague, and friend whose life was defined by her energy, steady kindness, and love of community. Raised in Lewes and largely in Milton’s Cave Colony neighborhood, Tracie remained connected to the places and people of her youth throughout her life. She graduated from Sussex Central High School in 2000 and earned a bachelor’s degree in human resources from Goldey-Beacom College in 2004. Those who knew her remember a person who loved being active — she played field hockey and soccer in high school and took pride in being the first female soccer player from Sussex Central to start on a college varsity team. That competitive spirit and team-first attitude carried into her adult life.

Professionally, Tracie applied her people-first approach as a human resources specialist, most recently at Boscov’s in Salisbury. She brought patience, fairness, and attention to detail to her work, and she cared about supporting colleagues and helping others find their footing. Outside of work she enjoyed being active and staying connected to friends and family in the communities where she grew up and lived.

Tracie is remembered by those who loved her as thoughtful, grounded, and quietly determined. She is survived by family members who remember the warmth she brought to gatherings and the steady loyalty she offered to friends. She was preceded in death by grandparents and is part of a larger family who carry forward her memory with love.

Though words cannot replace the presence she brought to everyday moments, Tracie’s life is remembered for the small but meaningful ways she showed up for others — on the field, at work, and at home. Her family and community hold her in their hearts, honoring a life lived with care, commitment, and a love of simple joys.
