Terry Maddox

Gary Terrance Porter (known to some as Terry Maddox), 41, of Syracuse, is remembered for his devotion to family and for the steady work he did to provide for those he loved. A former employee of Paper Works Industries in Baldwinsville, Gary carried a quiet pride in his labor and the routine of daily life. He remained intimately connected to his children and family — a presence measured in care and responsibility.

Gary is mourned by his daughters Tanajee Maddox, Terrianna Maddox, and Te'Arie Maddox, and by sons Teray Porter and Tymeik Johnson. He shared a close relationship with his fiancée, Evelyn S. Tennyson, and is also remembered by his father and by extended family including siblings and his maternal grandmother. Those who gathered to celebrate his life recalled family ties that mattered most to him.

Friends and relatives honored Gary’s life at services held by Farone & Son Funeral Home, where loved ones spoke of a man who valued family gatherings and ordinary moments spent with his children. He was laid to rest at Oakwood Cemetery following services at Believer’s Chapel.
