Terry Charles, 40, of Jeanerette, Louisiana, was a devoted family man whose presence brought comfort and steady care to those closest to him. Beloved by his wife, Tawanna Michael Charles, and a proud father to his son Richard Lumpkin and daughters Terriana Charles and Khennadie Michael, Terry’s life centered on family, faith, and the everyday kindnesses that bind communities.

Born to Earl Marks and Diane Charles, Terry grew up in Jeanerette and kept strong ties to the place he called home. Those who knew him remember a man who cherished family gatherings and quietly supported relatives and friends. Terry’s role as a son, brother and uncle is reflected in the many relatives who survive him, including his father, two brothers — Earl Marks, Jr. and Ross Charles — and three sisters — Tyrusha Roosevelt, Nice Charles James, and Sherry Marks. He also leaves behind two grandchildren, Dexton Charles and Ta'Leiah Charles, who will carry forward his memory in the family circle.
