Shannon Dwayne Bridges was born January 19, 1979, and spent his life in Akron, Ohio, surrounded by family and friends who mattered most to him. Known to those close to him as a loyal brother and a caring father, Shannon took pleasure in everyday moments with his loved ones and maintained strong ties to the community where he grew up.
He attended Akron Public Schools and was described by friends and family as respectful and steady in manner. Shannon’s family—his mother Carmela Bridges, his twin brother Shawn, brother Lawrence Bridges, and a wide circle of aunts, cousins and friends—were central to his life, and he is also survived by his son, Sahntay Sincere Bridges, who carried forward his memory.
Funeral services were held at Stewart & Calhoun Funeral Home in Akron on December 17, 2012, where family and community came together to honor his life and offer comfort.
