Obituary
A formal remembrance
Samuel Jose Salazar, 17, of Dallas, passed away on July 3, 2020. Born July 27, 2002, in Richardson, Texas, Samuel was known to family and friends for his restless creativity, his love of the outdoors and his determination to build a life with energy and imagination.
A 2020 high-school graduate, Sam combined a strong work ethic with a quick mind — qualities that showed early when he turned a simple idea into small ventures at school. Those who knew him remember a young man who enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and four-wheeling, always happiest when he could be outside with friends or family at the lake or the beach. He loved playing soccer, airsoft, and could often be found experimenting with projects in the yard or kitchen, inventing playful contraptions and recipes with a laugh and enthusiasm.
Samuel took pride in working and learning on the job; he held a position at a local roastery where coworkers recall his dedication and quiet reliability. He had an entrepreneurial spark and a warm readiness to share what he made — whether a snack, a project, or a joke — with the people around him. Those personal touches made him a memorable presence in his circles.
Sam is remembered as a devoted son whose family was central to his life. He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents and is survived by his parents and other relatives who carry his memory forward. While public notices mark the facts of his passing, those who loved Samuel remember the ordinary, meaningful moments he filled: summertime outings, shared meals, and the small inventions and mischief that made him uniquely himself.
Samuel’s life, though tragically short, reflected a bright curiosity and an energetic generosity of spirit. He is gently and lovingly remembered by family and friends who cherish the time they had with him and the many ways his quick imagination and steady work ethic touched their lives.
