Remembering Rashawn

A life held close in memory

Rashawn Devon Dickerson, born March 19, 1997 in Florence County, South Carolina, was known to family and friends as a caring and compassionate presence who loved his family deeply. A graduate of West Florence High School, class of 2015, Rashawn carried with him the close ties of home — he treasured time with relatives and took pride in being available to help those around him.

He was a loving son to Devon Dickerson and Eunice Jordan and a devoted brother, nephew, uncle, grandson and friend. Rashawn’s family remembers him for his warm heart and for always being willing to lend a hand. Those who knew him recall a young man who placed family at the center of his life and who gave comfort and practical support to those he cared about.

Rashawn’s memory lives on through the many relatives who survive him, including his parents; siblings; extended family; and close friends. The family held a celebration of life on April 15, 2023, where those who loved him gathered to honor his spirit and the kindness he showed in life.

Though Rashawn’s time with us was far too short, the compassion he showed others and the bonds he formed remain. He will be remembered for his gentle nature, his dedication to family, and the everyday kindnesses that defined him. Those who loved Rashawn carry forward his memory in stories, in quiet acts of care, and in the ongoing love of the family he held dear.

Rashawn was gone far too soon. May the love, memories, and moments connected to this life continue to be treasured, and may those mourning find comfort in remembering what mattered most.
