Remembering Randall

A life held close in memory

Randall Scott Pfeil, age 50, passed away on July 7, 2010. Those who knew Randall remember a man who filled a room with stories of adventure and an easy laugh. A devoted son and grandson, he was also a brother, father and uncle who cherished family ties and brightened ordinary days with his warmth and willingness to help others.

Randall is lovingly remembered by his mother Susie LaValle and stepfather Ron LaValle; his father, Thomas Pfeil; sisters Kim Smith, Kari Frisbie and Kristi Ariss; his daughter Brooke Simpson; his grandmother Sarah Thiele; nieces and nephews who admired him; and his partner Sarah Connole, described as the love of his life. Family notes that his generous spirit and “heart of gold” showed in small, practical ways — whether sharing a good story, offering help when it was needed, or being present for the people he loved.

Friends and relatives recall time spent together, laughter at his tales, and the comfort of his company. In his memory, loved ones encouraged gestures that honor his caring nature, such as planting trees or making quiet donations that reflect the practical kindness he showed in life.

Though his passing was sudden and deeply felt, Randall’s family and friends remember him first for the life he lived: a person who made others smile, reached out to help, and left lasting, tender memories. He will be held forever in the hearts of those who loved him.
