Omari Forrester

Omari Antoine Forrester (July 8, 1986 — July 1, 2018) was a loving son, brother and father whose energetic spirit and quick humor brightened everyday moments for family and friends. Known affectionately as "O," Omari was raised in Baltimore and educated in Baltimore City Public Schools, where his easy conversation and bright mind made him memorable to classmates and teachers alike.

Family was central to Omari’s life. He treasured time with his loved ones and embraced his role as the oldest sibling on both his parents’ sides, often guiding and encouraging the younger members of his extended family. He is remembered for warm hugs, a ready joke that could lift spirits, and an eagerness to help get things done for the people he cared about. Omari’s daughter, A’mari, and his close family members were the focus of his devotion.

Omari’s parents, Antoinette Forrester and Thomas Parks Jr., along with stepmother Charlene Parks, survive him and remain part of the circle of family who carry his memory forward. He is also remembered by his brothers Bryant Forrester, Thomas Parks III, James Townes, Andre Forrester and Antonio Forrester; stepbrothers Robert Johnson and Quenteze Johnson; and sisters Amore Forrester, Shamia Parks, Jamia Forrester, Shymeka Parks, Ashley Forrester, Tiara Parks and Thi’lun Parks. His loving presence extended to many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins who recall his warmth and the everyday kindnesses that defined him.

Those who knew Omari recall a man who made ordinary moments meaningful — a laugh shared at the right time, a playful face, a sincere embrace, and a loyal presence in family life. While his life was cut far too short, those memories of humor, devotion and love remain with the people he cherished.

Services were arranged by Calvin B. Scruggs Funeral Home in Baltimore, where family and friends gathered to celebrate Omari’s life and to honor the bonds he built. In remembering Omari Antoine Forrester, his family asks that remembrances celebrate the simple, human gifts he gave: warmth, laughter, and steadfast love for those closest to him.
