Remembering Nayeli
A life held close in memory
Nayeli Carrillo Gonzalez was born May 9, 2000. A devoted daughter and a passionate student at California State University, Fresno, Nayeli was pursuing social work and carried a hope for helping others that touched those around her. She returned to Delano for winter break to be with family and friends, and her presence brought comfort, laughter, and pride to those who knew her.
Nayeli’s family arranged services in Delano to celebrate her life and to gather the community in remembrance. Visitation and a rosary were held on January 21, 2020, followed by a Christian funeral mass and burial on January 22 at North Kern Cemetery. Those services reflected the deep bonds she shared with family, faith communities, and longtime friends in Delano.
Though Nayeli’s time was far too brief, the care she showed for others and her dedication to her studies remain part of her legacy. Family members and friends remember her as a young woman with compassion, ambition, and strong ties to home. Community vigils and remembrances in Delano reflected how many lives she touched and how deeply her loss was felt.
Her memory lives on in the stories shared at services, the quiet acts of kindness she inspired, and the hopes her family continues to hold for honoring her life. Those who wish to leave messages or memories for Nayeli’s family were invited to share remembrances through the funeral home’s memorial page.
