Obituary

A formal remembrance

Michael Sterling Rodriquez Fair (March 19, 1980 – May 30, 2002) is remembered for the warmth he brought to those around him and the responsibilities he embraced at a young age. A graduate of Independence High School and a student at The Ohio State University, Michael balanced his studies with deep ties to family and faith as a member of the Power of God Revival Center.

Known to family and friends by the affectionate nickname "Roc-Roc," Michael was a devoted son to Gregory T. and M. Jackie Fair and a loving father to his son, Chaquez. He is also mourned by siblings, extended family members, and a wide circle of friends who treasured his presence. Michael’s life was celebrated by grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins who recall his place in family gatherings and community life.

Funeral services were held in early June 2002 at St. Michael Church in Worthington, with family receiving friends at Rutherford-Corbin Funeral Home. He was laid to rest at Glen Rest Memorial Estate in Reynoldsburg.

Though his years were few, Michael’s connections to his family, his church community, and his studies at Ohio State paint the picture of a young man with responsibilities, relationships, and hopes for the future. This remembrance honors the person he was — a son, brother, and father whose life mattered deeply to those who loved him.
