Remembering Marquis
A life held close in memory
Marquis “KeKe” Davon Holliman (August 5, 1985 – June 6, 2024) was a caring son, a loving father, and a presence who brought light into the lives of those close to him. Born in Camden, Arkansas, Marquis carried with him a steady kindness and a strength of spirit that family members remember fondly. He moved to the Dallas area to stand by his mother in her time of need and to be near family, and he settled in Arlington for the last four years of his life.
Marquis worked long, honest hours with an independent moving company and took pride in providing for those he loved. Those who knew him recall his easy sense of humor, his habit of lifting the mood with a joke or a bright smile, and the way he enjoyed gathering people together — whether for music, a backyard barbecue, or simply to share time with family. He loved his children deeply and was known for putting them first.
He is survived by his mother, Joyce Ann (Holliman) Bryant; his father, Curly Henderson; six children and a grandchild; siblings and extended family who cherish his memory; and many friends whose lives he touched. Marquis was preceded in death by several relatives whose memories he carried with him.
A visitation and celebration of life honored Marquis on June 30 and July 1, 2024, at Williams Funeral Home – Arkadelphia and Good Hope A.M.E. Church in Chidester, Arkansas. In the face of an untimely loss, his family and community remembered him not for how he died but for the warmth, humor, and quiet generosity that defined his days. He is remembered as a devoted son and father whose love and laughter remain in the hearts of those who knew him.
